Short-term rental in the city
This project involved transforming a sentimental two-bedroom apartment near the central train station into a refreshed and stylish space, ready for hosting or generating rental income. The apartment, untouched since the owners' childhood, was filled with mid-century modern furniture and featured stunning hardwood floors, which we refinished alongside solid wood windowsills to retain its charm. With a focus on preserving its character while modernizing, we kept costs low by refinishing an iron tub and painting the existing bathroom tiles, fully refurnishing the kitchen, upgrading the bathroom sink, and addressing outdated wiring. A fresh coat of white paint throughout was complemented by cheerful touches of sunny yellow—used to visually shorten and brighten the long hallway, add interest to the bathroom, and flow into the decor through a mustard sofa, textiles, and custom artwork. Most of the original furniture was repurposed with updates like new upholstery and paint, while additional decor, lighting, and small furnishings completed the look. The owners were delighted with the thoughtful approach, which respected the home’s sentimental value while giving it a modern refresh. Ultimately, the apartment’s new look attracted a prominent short-term rental company, ensuring it continues to charm visitors while turning a profit.
